Design-o-mania

March 11, 2009

As I wait here at home for the second of two contractors to arrive for a repair project, I should make time to acknowledge some changes to the design of the blog. If you’re a regular reader, you have no doubt noticed the alterations for yourself. The fundaments of the site remain the same – still running atop the Thesis framework, still using a variant of the Neoclassical + Thesis design. That design is even more personalized now, and is much closer to what I’d idealized when I adopted Thesis.

Just a few more changes to make, and these will be more evolutionary than revolutionary in nature, so no need to fear!

NOTE: A style switcher function has been added to the blog. By clicking the 'light style' link near the top of the navigation bar to the right, readers will view a dark text on light background design.

Yes, the white (or light) type on darker backgrounds can be hard on vision for some. I've tweaked the type color a bit to try to ameliorate that.

ummm... first trip here. and yes it is purty .... but when the background is dark and the text is white, the reader gets eye strain similar to repeatedly walking out of a dark movie theatre into the bright sun light.  (sorry to be a debbie downer, but it's an old pet peeve of mine .....) also, the muted look is not user friendly for old broads like me.  squinting is something i try to avoid ..... have enough frown lines.

Thanks! And yeah, this is a great substitute for actually writing anything. :-D

I love the new look!  I guess I need to go move some things around.  I can't seem to come up with a post, so at least putting  on a coat of paint and dressing the windows a bit would do me some good!
